Geralt of Rivia is an expert warrior, fighting both humans and beasts alike. Geralt trained at Kaer Morhen's Witcher School of the Wolf, and ever since he's used those skills throughout Andrzej Sapkowski's superb novels, as well as in Projeckt Red's video game series to collect bounties by killing monsters and supernatural beings.

With Netflix's The Witcher series bringing the famed hero back into the public eye, we wonder how some of DC Comic's villains would fare against him. There're plenty of mutated psychopaths and aliens roaming Gotham City, Metropolis, and other famous locations in the DC Comics Universe, so we pick 5 he'd defeat, and 5 he couldn't.

10 Can Defeat: Solomon Grundy

Named after the famous 19th Century nursery rhyme by Edwin Arlington Robinson, Solomon Grundy became the hulking beast after murdering Henry Pittance, the man responsible for raping his wife and causing her to commit suicide, then killing himself after jumping into Slaughter Swamp.

Grundy was given superhuman strength, becoming an undead creature with a plethora of new abilities. Geralt would certainly struggle to get the upper hand, but his Axii sign would help to calm the murderous rage within Grundy, allowing Geralt to use his silver sword to take off his head in a moment of artificial serenity.

9 Can't Defeat: Atrocitus

A close up on Atrocitus

Few are as powerful as Atrocitus, and Geralt has never faced anyone with such an awesome range of magical abilities. His Red Lantern Ring allows him to fly, as well as use rage-fuelled energy to create force-fields and acid-like plasma. Not only that but by enacting blood rituals, he would always be one step ahead of the Witcher.

Atrocitus is incredibly strong and durable, meaning even if Geralt was able to wear him down at all, he wouldn't feel it like other villains would. Also, who's to say Atrocitus wouldn't use the Red Power Ring to infect Geralt with rage, turning him into one of the Red Lantern Corps and working alongside the former citizen of Ryutt?

8 Can Defeat: Cheetah

Barbara Minerva AKA Cheetah used to be a close friend of Wonder Woman until she mocked Minerva's beliefs. Channeling the power of the plant God Urzkartaga, Cheetah is able to use incredible speed and strength to tear down her foes in glorious fashion.

Her sense of smell is heightened, and her razor-sharp claws would be able to rip the Witcher apart in a heartbeat, but there're a few Signs that would help him. Using Quen would help protect him from her lightning-quick attacks, and using his medallion, he'd locate her before she struck, using Yrden to trap her, leaving her vulnerable for a killer strike.

7 Can't Defeat: Doomsday

Standing face to face with Doomsday, Geralt wouldn't stand a chance against the terrifying alien. His presence alone is enough to scare away the bravest of heroes. His overwhelming strength would no doubt be enough to destroy Geralt, and once you throw in his invulnerability and teleportation abilities, it's bye-bye, Witcher.

In his full adult form, Doomsday is even more powerful, and it took Superman all he had to defeat him, so that alone tells you exactly how powerful the creature is. Emitting radiation and contaminating spores, Doomsday wouldn't even break a sweat when faced with Geralt, and that's before he's even lifted a finger.

6 Can Defeat: Man-Bat

This fight would be one of the more traditional battles Geralt is used to. The Witcher is no stranger to fighting beasts with wings, taking on Dracolizards, Sirens, and Ekhidna's to name a few. Dr. Kirk Langstrom started off life as a scientist trying to find a cure for the deaf, but his work ended up turning him into the hideous Man-Bat.

Whilst Langstrom may have enhanced strength and endurance, The Witcher has exceptional agility. With the right parry, Geralt would only need one strike to cut Man-Bat down, disabling his ability to fly and bring him crashing to the ground. From there, one swift strike to the heart would kill the doctor and bring in a profitable bounty.

5 Can't Defeat: Bizarro

Lex Luthor has spent most of his life trying to defeat Superman, and after failed experiments using gene-splicing and nanobots to create the perfect weapon to destroy his nemesis, Luthor moved to cloning. When the Crime Syndicate of Earth-3 arrived and formed an alliance with many of Earth's criminal metahumans, Luthor unleashed his latest creation.

Bizarro was an unfinished albeit powerful creation, using a multitude of abilities in his various iterations. Super strength, flight, and speed make up most of his abilities, but he has also had flame breath and arctic vision. His unhinged persona and reckless aggression would destroy Geralt, who'd be unable to control the unnatural monster.

4 Can Defeat: Bane

Throughout Batman's career as a masked vigilante of Gotham City, Bane has been one of the toughest enemies he's ever faced. The difference between Bruce Wayne and Geralt of Rivia, however, is that the Witcher has a fantastic handle on magic. Bane is smart, and when his veins flow with Venom, there're few who can defeat him.

However, in a one-on-one contest, Geralt is nimble on his feet and would be able to use his quick thinking to avoid many of Bane's attacks. Not only that but using his various Signs to slow down his enemy would give the Witcher the perfect opportunity to strike.

3 Can't Defeat: Nekron

As an embodiment of darkness, Nekron has used some remarkable gifts to take on Earth's heroes. In all honesty, Nekron wouldn't even have to lift a finger to kill Geralt. He could simply summon all of the fallen superheroes and turn them into an army of the undead, transforming them into his gruesome Black Lanterns.

If the two ever did come face to face, Nekron would only have to touch the Witcher to kill him. Failing that, his acute attachment to the dead would provide hundreds of possibilities to wipe out Geralt of Rivia. The Blackest Night story arc showcased just how dangerous Nekron is, and the Witcher would just become another one of his victims.

2 Can Defeat: Killer Croc

Waylon Jones was an outcast, bullied by his friends and shunned by his family due to the rare medical condition that gave him the appearance of a crocodile. Along with his appearance, however, came unique abilities that made him incredibly strong, as well as giving him razor-sharp teeth and claws.

Although Killer Croc has enhanced strength, he's not too smart. The Witcher has proved time and time again he's a skilled combatant, and it wouldn't take too much to bring down the Croc. His Igni Sign might not work if they fight in the sewers, but there's still an arsenal of magic the Witcher could use to confuse, subdue, and destroy him.

1 Can't Defeat: Gorilla Grodd

Few supervillains are as violent or as strong as Gorilla Grodd. Imbued with incredible strength, Grodd would tear apart the Witcher, however, it'd take more than that to defeat him. Luckily for Grodd, his vast intelligence and psionic abilities would help to easily defeat the Witcher.

Gorilla Grodd believes that eating the brains of his victims grants him their abilities and knowledge, and serving up the insides of the Witcher's skull would certainly teach him a thing or two. Grodd would use psiosis to trap Geralt and pull him into his powerful arms, and from there he would tear his limbs off with ease.
