In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Geralt will eventually discover that he needs to bring the Wild Hunt to him or else they will continue to chase Ciri. After successfully putting Uma through the Trail of the Grasses and before heading to the Isle of Mists, Geralt will need to complete quests Brothers in Arms: Nilfgaard, Novigrad, Skellige and Velen. The player will have an option to recruit several people to join them in The Battle of Kaer Morhen.

Being trusted friends and allies, these characters will have already been seen in previous quests but, depending on the choice of actions and dialogues in previous encounters, some may refuse to help. Some characters will also automatically decline, such as Cerys and Dijkstra. Recruiting all of the following characters will assist in the battle against the Wild Hunt and earn the player the Full Crew achievement.

Ermion

Ermion The Witcher 3

Ermion is a skilled and intelligent Druid, as well as a good friend and advisor to King Bran Tuirseach and Queen Calanthe of Cintra. The leader of the Druids’ Circle in Skellige, he brands Yennefer’s and Geralt’s actions with the Mask of Uroboros as wreckless and irresponsible. Nonetheless, he will help them with matters related to Ciri.

Upon reaching Skellige, Ermion will first be found arguing with Yennefer near the site of the magic anomaly in the main quest, Echoes of the Past. Ermion will then be recruited to the Full Crew when speaking to him during the quest Brothers in Arms: Skellige. After playing through the main quest, he will be found around the Druid’s camp. You can recruit him by speaking to him in the camp, with no additional quests needed.

Hjalmar an Craite

Hjalmar The Witcher 3

As part of a storyline in Skellige, Geralt must help decide the ruler of the Isles and assist Hjalmar or Cerys. The two siblings, always in rivalry but close in bond, have two very different approaches to dealing with the massacre during King’s Gambit. Following through with Cerys’ more logical method of investigation will find Birna Bran guilty of poisoning mead while Hjalmar’s more brash approach doesn’t find a culprit but does clear the family name.

If either of them is crowned ruler, Hjalmar will be the one that gets sent to fight in Kaer Morhen. If alive, he will also bring Folan and Vigi. Geralt must save Folan from being boiled alive from trolls while on Undvik. Vigi is held captive by the Ice Giant, and it is important to free him before wakening the troll; otherwise, he can still be killed.

Keira Metz

Keira Metz The Witcher 3

After looking for a witch in Velen, Geralt runs to Keira Metz, former advisor of King Foltest and former member of the Lodge of Sorceress. She helps Geralt look for Ciri in the elven ruins near Duén Hen and after they defeat a member of the Wild Hunt, she asks Geralt to help her retrieve a magic lamp for a later favor.

Keira will give Geralt a list of quests to complete under the achievement Friends With Benefits with the ultimate decision on her going to Kaer Morhen resting on Geralt after he lifts the curse of Fyke Isle. She will explain she wanted research notes on a plague to use as a bargaining chip with Radvoid, as she wants to go back to her old life and hates living in the countryside. To complete the crew, Geralt must give her the option of going to Kaer Morhen; the other dialogue options will see her die in battle with Geralt or return to Radvoid.

Triss Merigold

Triss Merigold The Witcher 3

Triss will appear at Kaer Morhen at either Geralt’s or Yennefer’s call, and her side quests before this will strongly influence the rest of her storyline. Triss is involved in the search for Dijkstra‘s treasure and helping to rescue Dandelion, but she will seek Geralt’s help when a Sistine mage escapes Novigrad.

If the player decides to romance Triss at the Vegelbud Ball, a series of events begin which culminate in the ultimate decision of asking Triss not to go to Kovir or letting her go. If Geralt lets her go to Kovir, she still appears at Yennefer’s asking to help Ciri but remains distant to Geralt. However, if he convinces her to stay and go to Kaer Morhen on his behalf, she will gladly agree, which will upset Yennefer but allows you to continue your romance further into the story and DLCs.

Vernon Roche and Ves

Ves The Witcher 3

Roche, an old friend of Geralt’s, is determined to free Temeria but has found Radovid and Emhyr no better than each other and has struck out on his own in guerrilla warfare. Dijkstra is the one who sends Geralt Roche’s way when looking for Whoreson Junior, to which Roche asks for a favor in return.

After the quest Get Junior, Roche will have asked you to help him with a problem with Ves, starting the quest An Eye for an Eye. Upon reaching his camp West of Oxenfurt, he says that Ves has disobeyed his orders to not go back to Mulbrydale, a town that had previously helped them and is now overrun with Nilfgaardians who are executing citizens. Ves must be kept alive during the ambush for both her and Roche to be recruited to the Full Crew, but the dialogue options during the ambush have no impact on the outcome.

Zoltan Chivay

Zoltan The Witcher 3

Zoltan Chivay is a long-term friend of Geralt and Dandelion who resides in Novigrad, helping Dandelion with his new tavern. After learning about the trouble Dandelion has put himself in to protect Ciri, Zoltan ambushes the prison cart escorting Dandelion to Oxenfurt with Geralt's help. Dandelion thanks him for this despite arguing he had the situation under control, and the two go back to running the tavern.

Zoltan does not have any particular quests that need to be finished before being recruited to the Full Crew. During Brothers in Arms: Novigrad, Zoltan can be found at the Rosemary and Thyme and will join up when asked. It’s recommended to finish Zoltan’s personal quest, A Dangerous Game, where Geralt helps Zoltan collect three rare Gwent cards which he needs for the collection. When in Kaer Morhen, Zoltan will act as a temporary blacksmith for any last-minute enhancements or repairs to weapons and armor.
