Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth are set to reunite for the sequel to Universal Pictures' Snow White and the Huntsman, and the search is officially on for a director.
Deadline reports three names are on the studio's short listl, and the most eye-catching one by far is Frank Darabont, late of The Walking Dead and Mob City. He hasn't directed a feature since 2007's The Mist, but his resume more than speaks for itself, with a wide range of films that show Darabont's ability to thrive in a carefully crafted fictional world.
Also on the list are Gavin O'Connor, director of Warrior, and Andy Muschietti, director of Mama. There's no indication of who's leading the pack, or if another director will emerge as the top contender.
No matter who winds up in the seat, a director is expected to be named shortly, as Snow White and the Huntsman 2 is expected to begin shortly after Hemsworth wraps on The Avengers: Age of Ultron, currently in production.
