Robert Downey Jr. is already attached to star in Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity, and the search to find his co-star has led to familiar territory for the Iron Man actor.
According to Heat Vision, Scarlett Johansson is one of the two leading contenders to play the female lead in Gravity. If hired, the faces behind Tony Stark and Black Widow would reunite on the big screen once again, with a planned reunion already in the cards for The Avengers.
But Johansson isn't the only actress vying for the Gravity lead, as her husband Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern co-star Blake Lively is also testing for the role. The Gossip Girl actress is considered a favorite at Warner Bros., thanks to her portrayal of Carol Ferris in the forthcoming DC Comics adaptation.
Gravity tells the story of a group of astronauts repairing the Hubble telescope. When an avalanche of space junk kills all but one astronaut, the lone survivor must fight her way back to Earth to reunite with her daughter. The film was originally set up at Universal with Angelina Jolie playing the lead role.
