In the proud tradition of Charlton and Timely Comics, which gave the DC Universe characters like Blue Beetle and Captain Atom in the 1980s, the formerly independent Wildstorm Productions became part of DC officially with the New 52 reboot of continuity. And like Charlton and Timely, Wildstorm provided DC some of the most powerful characters in its ranks.

Characters from Wildcats, Stormfront and the Authority crossed over into mainline DC, with a few of them being on par with existing powerhouses like Superman. Let's take a look at the most powerful Wildstorm characters to join the DC Universe.

10 Grifter

Grifters Futures End

Grifter is one of the more popular characters from the Wildstorm universe, and so it made sense he was one of the first to crossover into DC as part of Team 7. Aside from his prowess as a soldier and Coda warrior, Cole Cash possesses an array of abilities that make him a formidable opponent.

He's telekinetic and telepathic, though at a cost. Cash is supremely durable, with a healing factor that renders him ageless and maybe even a little deathless, considering the injuries he's suffered.

9 Midnighter

Midnighter

Midnighter hails from The Authority, though he has some DC feels: he's an analog for Batman, but with some major differences. He's certainly much less afraid of commitment than Batman has been lately, but most of the differences are to do with his powers, which Batman doesn't have.

Midnighter is super strong, super fast and super durable. On top of that, he has a heightened sense of precognition, allowing him to see events before they happen. This renders most attacks by villains moot.

8 Voodoo

Voodoo debuted in the very first issue of the Image Comics Wild C.A.T.S., with the ability of The Sight. She could see if someone was possessed by the evil Daemonites, enemies of her people, the Kherubim. Once Voodoo crossed over to the New 52, things got complicated.

She wasn't Kheubim anymore, but Daemonite, which means she lost The Sight. What she lost in vision, she gained in manipulation, now possessing the Daemonite ability to shapeshift. On top of that, she secretes poison. It was a rough transition.

7 Zealot

Zealot

Another foundational member of Wildcats and first-ballot entry into the Bad Ass Hall of Fame is Zealot. Her Kherubim history crossed over to DC intact, as did her membership in the Coda, an elite, secretive sect of women warriors (with some exceptions, like Grifter).

In addition to the superhuman strength, agility, stamina, and reflexes her Kheurbim heritage provides her, Zannah of Khera is also immortal. Pretty much nullifies anybody else's advantage from the fight. She's also a sorceress, in case she gets tired of kicking your butt with her bare hands.

6 The Engineer

Anglea Spica willingly replaced all the blood in her body with liquid nanites and as a result, became one of the most powerful members of the Wildstorm Universe. Able to shapeshift, duplicate herself, just make stuff out of whatever is lying around, The Engineer is a walking, talking computer virus.

But she mostly makes her hands into guns. Because hand-guns are cool. Her powerset has diminished with her transition into the DC universe but she remains a powerful figure nonetheless.

5 Jack Hawksmoor

Jack Hawksmoor as seen in DC Comics

Hawksmoor has pretty much all the other requisite powers of the others on this list. He's tough, he's strong, he's fast. He also has a unique ability that makes him very powerful. The King of Cities was genetically altered so that if he left his urban environment, his body would break down.

This gave him a symbiotic relationship to the city itself, putting him in a strange communion with seemingly inanimate objects like buildings and streets. Though this ability has been dampened a bit in the DC universe, he remains connected to his city and unable to leave.

4 Jenny Quantum

Jenny Quantum

Jenny Quantum has a complicated but fascinating history in the Wildstorm universe. Born on January 1st, 2000, she's the new Spirit of the Century. As such, she'll live a hundred years without eve aging much beyond a teenager (which she accelerated to, at will). Jenny's ability to manipulate quantum reality would make her the top of any list, but this aspect of her got revised down heavily with the transition to the DC universe.

So far, she has yet to display the infinite range of power she had before.

3 Apollo

His partner Midnighter was created as a Batman analog, and Apollo was intended as a Superman one. As a consequence, his powers echo the Man of Steel's closely

Apollo's strength, invulnerability to pretty much everything and the energy blasts he fires from his eyes and hands are all dependent on the sun. This also allows him to operate in space without any protection or oxygen. Like the many other characters that made the leap to DC, his powers have been reduced a little, but he remains a true powerhouse.

2 Mr. Majestic

WildStorm's Mr. Majestic standing ready to fight with his eyes flaring with energy

Mr. Majestic would be one of the most powerful beings in any universe. A Kherubim warlord and husband of Zealot at one time, Majestic holds incredible power. Like Apollo, much of it is familiar.

Majestic can fly, punch super hard, take a super punch and shoot laser beams out of his eyes. He breathes ice. He survives in space. As if that weren't enough, he's a genius. Though not a precog like Midnighter, he can anticipate events to the point that may as well be.

1 Void

While technically not a part of the DC universe, Void has a powerful connection to it in every sense of the word. When Captain Atom found himself stranded in the Wildstorm universe pre-New 52, he worked with Void to get home. Things got crazy, as they tend to do, and Void inevitably recreated the entire Wildstorm universe from the ground up.

Using the immense celestial power granted to her by the Orb, and also bonding with Captain Atom, she rebooted Wildstorm and sent Captain Atom on his way, paving the way for another revision that finally melded the two universes.
