Actor Wil Traval's expressed excitement for X-Men: Dark Phoenix was widely interpreted to mean the Jessica Jones alum had been cast in the Fox sequel. However, he's since clarified his comment, explaining he's merely looking forward to the movie as a fan.

Traval, who plays officer Will Simpson on Marvels Jessica Jones, originally tweeted in late April that he's "gonna be in heaven," a statement accompanied by hashtags for Dark Phoenix and X-Men 7. That largely escaped notice until this weekend, when several websites, including CBR, took the comment to mean the actor had been cast in the film, which begins production this summer. Last night, however, Traval explained himself.

'I am going to be heaven' because I am looking forward to the film. Nothing more to it. #notinthemovie— Wil Traval (@WilTraval) June 11, 2017

Best known for his work on Jessica Jones, and on the Australian hospital drama All Saints, Traval also appeared as the Sheriff of Nottingham on ABC's Once Upon a Time and as the Human Target on The CW's Arrow.
