One of the many things to love about Spider-Verse, Spider-Geddon, and the rest of those major events is that fans got to get introduced to new variants on the Spider-Man character fans all love so much.

Two of those variants stand out above the rest, Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Punk. The real question is, how do fans decide which is their favorite?

10 Spider-Man Noir: His Aesthetics

Spider-Man Noir feature

One thing that cannot be denied about Spider-Man Noir: his aesthetics are on point. Everything about his character is so dramatic and eye-catching, regardless of the format he's in. In the comics, he's demanding attention, and likewise for the animated movies as well.

His look, sound, and background all come together to make a complete character who is iconic and memorable.

9 Spider-Punk: His Punk Style

Conversely, there's Spider-Punk's style, which is rocking – literally. Hobart Brown is a rebel with a cause, and he makes that cause look good. He's taken all of the classic Spider-Man elements fans have loved for years and added a distinctive rock or punk edge to the look.

It's a look that works. He stands out among all of the Spider-Men running around, and not just because of the spikes on his head. Though there is that as well.

8 Spider-Man Noir: Rabble Rouser

Spider-Man Noir is a hero through and through. He's not the type of person to sit idly by while others are hurt. In that sense, he is exactly like the Spider-Man fans all know and love. In his world though, the crime-fighting takes on a whole different form.

It also gives him this edge that makes him feel more like a rabble rouser, though perhaps that's just the period his world is set in giving off that vibe. Regardless, it's a vibe that works well, and once again makes him stand out.

7 Spider-Punk: His Fantastic Guitar

While Spider-Punk doesn't always carry his guitar around (it isn't always practical) it is still an iconic part of him. Picture this hero, and odds are good that his guitar is being pictured right alongside him.  It doesn't hurt that said guitar is on most of the covers alongside him.

It's a great look and a strong reminder of the passion that our hero carries with him. He's there to save the day – but he's also going to love life and music in the process.

6 Spider-Man Noir: Gritty History

It's safe to say that Peter Parker doesn't usually have the best luck, regardless of what universe he's in. Odds are good that he's faced trials and tribulations. Spider-Man Noir is no exception. His past is gritty and full of pain.

Though there are certain elements to his past that feel more gruesome than ever, again a tribute to the setting of his world. From the way he lost his Uncle Ben, to the way he became Spider-Man, it all is fascinating yet painful for our hero.

5 Spider-Punk: A Warrior At Heart

Spider-Punk Marvel Comics

Hobie Brown is a true warrior at heart, his entire life is a tale of resistance and fighting for what is right, and there is so much to love about that. Even his backstory screams of this fact.

He became Spider-Man thanks to a spider infected with illegal radioactive waste. He fought against a harsh regime, joined up with the Web Warriors, and has spent his whole life fighting for those that can't fight for themselves.

4 Spider-Man Noir: A Battle Against Racketeering

Each Spider-Man (or Spider-Woman, for that matter) has their own unique battles to face. For Spider-Man Noir, he must face off against a litany of crooked cops, corrupt politicians, and a world filled with racketeering.

All of that actually fits in quite well with the setting for his world, while giving him a unique edge. His villains are still larger than life, while not being supervillains.

3 Spider-Punk: A Fan For the Fans

PS4 Spider-Man Spider-Punk

Spider-Punk is a hero, of that there is no doubt. Yet he is also clearly a fan of others in his world, even if their form is not what fans are used to. He expressed that he was fond of Gwen Stacy, with the implication being that she was a musician in his world (much like in Earth 65).

He also has an iconic symbol pinned to his front, one that looks very much like the Deadpool logo. Although, once again, this is probably a reference to a band in his world.

2 Spider-Man Noir: A Different Motto

One of the many things that makes Spider-Man Noir stand out against the rest of the Peter Parkers? His motto is completely different. He does not get to say “with great power comes great responsibility.”

No, instead his motto is different, yet perfectly formed for the life he has lived: “if there is too much power, then it is the responsibility of the people to take it away.” There are no punches pulled in that statement.

1 Spider-Punk: His Willingness To Give It All

Spider-Punk, as mentioned already, is a hero through and through. He proved that every time he fought in his world, and when he joined the rest of the Web Slingers to fight in their wars. Most recently, he proved how far he was willing to go for that battle.

Hobie Brown, like all of the Peter Parkers, Gwen Stacys, and everyone else that wears the mantle, is well and truly willing to give his life if it meant that others could live. He really is a hero of his generation, and deserves credit for that, as do they all.
