Batwoman's Wig Is More Important to the Show Than You Realize

While Batwoman is preparing to join the other heroes of the Arrowverse, one notable aspect of her costume will be absent for a while, as it's been confirmed that Batwoman's red wig won't show up until the third episode. But according to series star Ruby Rose, the crimson hairpiece is more important than one might think.

In an interview with TheWrap, Rose gave her thoughts on the wig, while not revealing the exact number of episodes it would appear in.

“It’s the character. I think that Kate Kane made a decision that she wanted people to recognize that if there’s a bat in the sky, they weren’t gonna confuse that bat with Batman,” Rose stated. “That’s her changing that identity so people don’t think that. I don’t think they have wind in the comics, so it’s not as troublesome to Batwoman as it is to me on a rooftop.”

This may tie into the show's first trailer, where, during her first outing as her nocturnal alter ego, Kate was mistaken for the long absent Dark Knight himself. This led to Kate saying she wasn't "about to let a man take credit for a woman's work," which may have resulted in the creation of the wig. The wig was also present for the character's debut in last year's "Elseworlds" crossover event.
