A sequel series to the classic sitcom Who's the Boss? has found its streaming home.

As reported by Deadline, the official follow-up will stream exclusively on Amazon's Freevee service, previously known as IMDB TV, and will feature several actors from the original show reprising their roles. These include stars Alyssa Milano and Tony Danza, who are set to return as Samantha Micelli and Tony Micelli respectively. The series will be written by Mike Royce (One Day at a Time, Everybody Loves Raymond) and Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz (One Day at a Time, Brooklyn Nine-Nine). At the time of writing, it's currently unknown whether Judith Light and Danny Pintauro, who played Angela and Jonathan Bower respectively, will return but the pair have expressed their support for the sequel. Katherine Helmond, who starred as Angela's mother Mona, tragically passed away in 2019 at the age of 89.

While details on the plot of the new series remain scarce, Sony Pictures Television revealed that it is set 30 years after the original Who's the Boss? The show will chronicle the relationship between retired housekeeper Tony Micelli and his daughter Samantha, who is now living as a single mother. The story will reportedly contain themes of "generational differences," as well as "differing parenting styles" and "opposing worldviews." The project has been in development for two years, having first been announced in 2020.

The original Who's the Boss? is widely considered to be one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time. The original series followed former major league baseball player Tony Micelli as he works as a housekeeper for Angela Bower, a New York City-based ad executive. First airing in 1984, the series ran for eight seasons and eventually came to an end in 1992.
