With Hollywood determined to revive every property from everyone’s collective youth, it’s no surprise that work is already underway on a The Man From UNCLE movie reviving the 1960s spy TV property. But does anyone want to direct it?
The 24 Frames blog reports that the movie’s development has stalled after both original director David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) and Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Jumper) passed on the chance to bring the movie to life despite initial interest, leaving producers directorless and having to deal with a post-Knight And Day environment when action-comedies don’t necessarily look attractive to moviemakers. Maybe it’s not too late to give JJ Abrams a call…?
