The following contains spoilers for Season 3 of Netflix's Who Killed Sara?, as well as a discussion on suicide.

In its three seasons, fans were constantly thrown for loops by Netflix's Who Killed Sara? A bevy of twists, turns and pharmaceutical scandals turned the parasailing death of Sara Guzmán into a shocking murder mystery, however, Sara's corpse wasn't in her grave. It stunned everyone investigating her passing in the final season, which set up a wild finale. Thankfully, the show's biggest mystery got solved, but it did leave a bittersweet taste.

What Happened to Sara Guzmán?

Lucia was Sara's daughter in Who Killed Sara?

After her accident, Sara ended up in the care of Reinaldo, a sinister doctor at a psychiatric hospital. He was running a shady program called the Medusa Project and decided to keep Sara. He faked her death and began conditioning her, using dark treatments to heal her schizophrenia. Reinaldo was seeking a "cure" for homosexuality, and hoped studying people like Sara would help him figure out how to make his gay daughter, Daniela, straight.

Sara rebelled, though, taking a knife and killing herself after years of being held captive. She had enough pain and trauma from her old life, so she didn't want to end up someone's lab rat anymore. A bigger twist ensued, though, over the other person in the lab years later who looked like Sara: Lucia.

Who Was the Mysterious Lucia?

Lucia was Sara's daughter in Who Killed Sara?

Lucia wasn't a clone as some theorists thought. She was actually Sara's daughter, who Reinaldo kept prisoner at the facility. The mad scientist's plan was to release her at 18, but Lucia also exhibited traits of her mom, wanting to be freed from her cage. Thankfully, this would come due to her uncle, Álex, who stormed the facility.

He shot tons of people, enraged over what happened to his sister. Even his allies in the Lazcano siblings -- Rodolfo and Elisa -- couldn't calm Álex down. It was painful for Rodolfo, especially, because while he and Sara had a romance in the past, Lucia wasn't his -- she was fathered by his despicable, manipulative dad, César, in yet another scandal.

What Happened to Reinaldo and the Other Villains?

Lucia was Sara's daughter and Reinaldo's prisoner in Who Killed Sara?

Álex ended up murdering Reinaldo in cold blood after all the pain the doctor caused. They eventually got the third Lazcano sibling, Chema, out the facility too, after César sent him there to be cured of being gay. Daniela also escaped with them, flipping the bird to a dying Reinaldo to let her dad know she'd never stop hating him.

As for César, he tried to make amends by taking the blame for the massacre. He accepted how he acted like a monster to his kids and enabled Reinaldo, but time was already running out for the patriarch of the Lazcano family. He only had two months to live due to cancer. Still, while he kept Álex out of prison, everyone hated him for his sins.

What Happened to Rodolfo and Lucia?

Rodolfo died and met Sara in the afterlife in Who Killed Sara?

Unfortunately, in the bloodbath, Rodolfo got shot and died as well. It was quite heartbreaking, but at least he perished in the comfort of his beloved inner-circle. More so, he was glad to see Lucia free, envisioning himself meeting Sara in the afterlife where he hoped to resume their love. That said, these sacrifices allowed Lucia, Álex, Elisa and Chema to walk off into the sunlight to start anew.

All three seasons of Who Killed Sara? are available on Netflix.
