Last week, Lucasfilm released fake trading cards revealing the names of the characters introduced in the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, including John Boyega's Finn, the droid BB-8 and the mysterious Sith Lord Kylo Ren. As Disney fan site Stitch Kingdom reports, the studio also submitted trademark applications for all of those names -- but there's an additional one that stands out: Captain Phasma.

MovieWeb speculates that the name, which has only ever shown up in a Star Wars fan fiction, might refer to the role played by Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie -- although we still don't know the names of the characters played by Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong'o and Max von Sydow.

The site forwards the theory that Phasma might be an Imperial officer "with ties to the Force" who pursues Finn, a Stormtrooper who abandoned his post.

Of course, beyond the fact that a trademark application has been filed for "Captain Phasma," everything else is speculation.

All will be made clear when J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens Dec. 18, 2015.
