Viewers of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. received a little dose of Marvel movie magic last week with a guest appearance by Lady Sif. The fierce Asgardian, played by Jaimie Alexander, proved the size of the screen doesn’t dictate how much ass she kicks; in fact, Sif got into more brawls in that 40-minute television episode than she did in all of Thor: The Dark World. The cameo made it clear that both Marvel Studios and Alexander are game for taking Sif on more adventures than the Thor franchise may allow. With that in mind, here are five Marvel projects we want to see Sif show up in next.

Marvel One-Shot

Her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spot demonstrates that Sif has the gravitas of a leading character. Sure, she was playing a supporting role to Coulson and his crew, but Sif shined outside of Thor's shadow. She commanded scenes, forwarded action, and proved herself to be a capable and multifaceted character. We all knew that was the case before, the "Yes Men" episode just confirmed it. It's time for Sif to really take over, and a Marvel One-Shot might be the perfect place. The film could focus on some of the doubt Sif showed in "Yes Men" about Odin's decisions – as well as a lot of face-punching.

Loki

A lot of fans really want a Loki movie. While we're not sure how that would play out – Loki's magic has worked best in supporting roles so far – we do think the status quo set up at the end of Thor: The Dark World would be perfect for a Loki project. Asgard is filled with wonderful characters, and Heimdall, the Warriors Three and Sif easily could take on a more proactive role in a Loki film, especially if our heroes suspect that Odin isn't exactly who he says he is. Jaimie Alexander has even expressed interest in diving into the Lady Loki material from Marvel's "Dark Reign" era, wherein Loki took over Sif's form to make mischief. An Asgardian Freaky Friday could be perfect movie material.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Sif already took a trip to a galaxy far, far away in Thor: The Dark World’s mid-credits scene. If this summer's Guardians of the Galaxy succeeds and kicks off a Marvel cosmic craze, we could get a Guardians sequel – and Sif could take part in it. It's a stretch, but there is a whole cosmic component to Asgard that the films have yet to explore – specifically the fan-favorite Beta Ray Bill. He's never been a Guardian of the Galaxy, but Marvel could use the sequel to work the horse-faced hammer-wielder into its cinematic Universe. As Sif and Bill have been friendly in the comics, it's not far-fetched to think that Sif could be by his side.

The Defenders

Alexander has shown herself willing to suit up at a moment's notice to bring Sif to life again. She did it for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so why wouldn't she do it for Marvel's upcoming Netflix series? While Sif doesn't really have any ties to Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist or Daredevil in the comics, she could find herself in the Defenders team-up miniseries. If a threat is big enough to bring together those four street-level heroes, it would probably be big enough to warrant some Asgardian attention. Plus, Jessica Jones shouldn’t be the only woman on the team. The Defenders need Sif.

The Avengers

Seriously, just put Sif in an Avengers movie already. The Avengers: Age of Ultron is becoming a bit crowded, what with Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and The Vision scheduled to appear, but maybe the third Avengers film can make room for Sif. As the threats grow exponentially, Earth's Mightiest Heroes might need to expand their ranks. After all, what's the natural progression from joining together a bunch of solo heroes for "Marvel's Avengers"? It's mashing up all of the heroes and their supporting casts. If the MCU is headed toward an Infinity Gauntlet-style showdown, it's feasible we'll see an Avengers 3 with Sif, Iron Patriot, Falcon, Maria Hill, Agent 13, the Warriors Three and the rest of the MCU supporting players all fighting Thanos across the Nine Realms.
