Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is big news, not just for fans of the series but for those who work in the industry due to its popularity. Production of the series led to complaints from other production studios due to its massive cast -- with over 80 voice actors lending their talents to the series. Despite any effects the production had on other series, the scale of its cast and crew seemingly indicate that Thousand-Year Blood War will be a peak-quality anime series that will be a satisfying adaptation of the manga's remaining chapters.

Original Crew Members Are Returning for Thousand-Year Blood War

Studio Pierrot (Tokyo Ghoul) produced the anime's original adaptation, which aired from October 2004 to March 2014, with 366 episodes. They are also behind the upcoming Thousand-Year Blood War series. Due to the original adaptation's end date, the series' final arc remained unadapted until now. The anime's original director Noriyuki Abe will not return for Thousand-Year Blood War. Instead, Tomohisa Taguchi (Persona 4: The Golden Animation) stepped up to direct the new series. Aside from the change in directors, notable crew members are returning for Thousand-Year Blood War, including composer Shiro Sagisu (Shin Godzilla) and character designer Masashi Kudo (Tower of God). The anime's opening theme, "Scar," is sung by Tatsuya Kitani, while its closing theme, "Saihate," is performed by SennaRin.

After an evil spirit known as a Hollow enters his house, Ichigo meets Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki, who is tracking the entity to defeat it. Unfortunately, the Hollow attacks Ichigo's family, and Rukia cannot defeat it. After that experience, Ichigo dedicates his life to helping tortured spirits find peace and protecting the innocent from unknown forces.
