With "Secret Wars" in full swing, Marvel Comics is now looking ahead to what happens when the dust settles from the universe-altering event. During the "Secret Wars" & Aftermath panel at Atlantic City Boardwalk Con, we were given our first hints at who and what might be hanging around when Battleworld breaks apart.

Near the end of the presentation, moderator Jacob Friedfeld said, "There are a couple things from our books that we will keep using when 'Secret Wars' is over." For example, he specifically pointed towards Maestro -- a future version of the Hulk that rules over the wasteland of Dystopia -- and "A-Force," the group of all-female Avengers. The new Howling Commandos, made up of Marvel's monster characters, will also fight on.

Friedfeld was less forthcoming on one particular carryover from "Secret Wars." He teased that a "new team of survivors from dead universes" will rise from the ashes of the event, though exactly who will comprise the team was kept confidential. However, it was revealed that these characters will have their own books (plural) and would appear in other on-going series as well.

Finally, some locations will also be carried over into post-"Secret Wars" continuity. Weirdworld was called out by name as one such locale, but Friedfeld hinted at even more. With a Battleworld map displayed behind him, he said that the landscape would "extend far beyond 'Secret Wars' itself. We will be going back to it."
