Before closing out its Hall H panel with footage from the forthcoming Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios turned its focus to the Chadwick Boseman-led Black Panther. With the film's cast on the stage alongside director Ryan Coogler, Marvel debuted footage from the film to those lucky enough to get into the studio's packed panel at Comic-Con International. With the footage meant to be exclusive to SDCC, we take a look at when the general public may be lucky enough to view the new material, along with the second trailer.

As part of our coverage of Marvel's Hall H panel, CBR broke-down the exclusive Black Panther footage, which ended with a standing ovation from the crowd. The crowd was shown a scene featuring a meeting between Klaue (Andy Serkis) and Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), in which the latter offers diamonds in exchange for Vibranium, that "quickly spirals into an elaborate and stylish fight scene involving Black Panther, Nakia and Okoye." In that scene, fans got to see Serkis sport Klaue's new weaponized arm following the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. The scene then cut to a new trailer for the film, which was cut to “DNA” by Kendrick Lamar.

Unlike with Thor: Ragnarok, which saw Marvel drop the new trailer online immediately follwing its debut on the Hall H panel, the footage for Black Panther remains exclusive to the convention. With that said, when can we expect to see the footage that was shown on stage? When it comes to the clip, chances are we won't see that for some time. However, the trailer is a different story.

While Marvel typically releases trailers about six months out from release, they surprised everyone when they dropped the first trailer for Black Panther back in June shortly after the film wrapped production. That's around eight months out from release. They followed this release schedule with Thor: Ragnarok, which released its first trailer back in April. With the second trailer finally debuting this week, that puts around three months between release, suggesting the second trailer for Black Panther probably won't arrive until late August/early September. It's likely that trailer will vary a bit from the one shown at SDCC, as that was exclusive to Hall H, but it'll more than likely contain some of the scenes depicted in the Comic-Con footage -- with the face off between Black Panther and Killmonger (in his own costume) seemingly a guarantee.

For now, we can enjoy the cast's reactions to seeing the footage for the very first time and bask in knowing that -- when Marvel does decide to share the footage -- we can be sure it'll be worth the wait.

Opening February 16, 2018, Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown and John Kani.
