Behind-the-scenes footage from The Wheel of Time Season 1 recently surfaced which includes a different introduction to the Seanchan forces teased during the season finale.
The footage is part of a previsualization (or previz) reel shared by Wheel of Time previz supervisor Martin Bell on LinkedIn, and is notable for how differently it portrays the Seanchan's enslaved female channelers, the damane. Unlike in the finished version of The Wheel of Time Season 1, Episode 8, "The Eye of World," in the previz footage, the damane aren't gagged. That said, in this early version of the scene, the damane are whipped by their captors to induce them to use the One Power -- cruel treatment not shown in the scene that eventually aired.
Visual effects footage from The Wheel of Time has been doing the rounds on social media lately. Earlier this month, actor Jennifer Cheon Garcia uploaded a clip of herself surrounded by cameras and lightening equipment on Instagram. The clip suggests that intensive effects work is currently underway for The Wheel of Time's second season, which tracks with Amazon Studios' Head of Global TV Vernon Sanders' previous prediction that "Season 2 will be bigger, bolder and a more expansive Wheel of Time."
Amazon Studios confirmed it had green-lit The Wheel of Time Season 2 before Season 1 premiered on Prime Video on Nov.19, 2021. Reports regarding the filming of the epic fantasy series' second season have continued to materialize since the "The Eye of the World" aired on Dec. 24, 2021. This includes the news that graphic novelist and actor Stewart Moore has filmed a "memorable" scene in the as-yet-unnamed fifth episode of the forthcoming season.
Recent reports also suggested Amazon renewed The Wheel of Time for a third season. However, this turned out to be false. At this stage, only one additional season is officially in production, although showrunner Rafe Judkins previously expressed the desire to adapt all 15 Wheel of Time novels by Robert Jordan (and later, Brandon Sanderson) across eight seasons.

Season 1 of The Wheel of Time is currently streaming on Prime Video. Season 2 does not yet have a release date.
