As the saying goes, there are neither beginnings nor endings to The Wheel of Time, but when it comes to the Amazon Prime Video series, there will be at least two seasons. The Wheel of Time has wrapped production on its first season in the Czech Republic, and has now been greenlit for a second, as reported by THR. The official Twitter for the series has also revealed that the Season 2 premiere will be written by Amanda K. Shuman, and that its title is "A Taste of Solitude."RELATED: Amazon's The Wheel of Time Shares a First Look at Daniel Henney's Lan

The tweet announcing the renewal shared an image of the Season 2 premiere's script, captioned, "With this many Ta’veren in one place, one season was never going to be enough." In the books, the invented word "ta'veren" refers to people whose nature is to change the path of the future, sometimes to chaotic effect -- a trait which is identified in several of the story's main characters.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins celebrated the news saying, "The belief Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television have shown in The Wheel of Time has been incredible to see throughout the entire process of making this show. Getting a second season order before the first season has even premiered is such a vote of confidence in the work we are doing and the property itself, and we couldn’t be happier to be able to continue to live and work in the world Robert Jordan created."

Judkins also spoke about his own history with the book series: "This property is one I’ve loved since I was a teenager, and seeing it brought to life with the resources to make it truly worthy of what’s on the page is something I can’t wait for the other fans of the books to see. And Season 2 just keeps expanding the world we built in Season 1."

First published in 1990, Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time fantasy series consists of fourteen novels, the final three of which were co-written by Brandon Sanderson following Jordan's death in 2007. The series, which follows a group of young villagers coming to terms with their own powers while being drawn into a worldwide conflict, is set in a world in which only women can wield the magical One Power without losing their sanity. It became a cornerstone of modern epic fantasy, known for its unique worldbuilding and expansive scope.

Executive produced and written by Rafe Judkins, The Wheel of Time stars Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford, Zoë Robins, Barney Harris, Madeleine Madden, Daniel Henney, and Michael McElhatton. A premiere date has not been announced by Amazon at this time.
