The first recording of characters speaking in Amazon Prime's The Wheel of Time TV series has just been released.A brief clip containing the audio sneak peek was posted to the show's official Twitter, captioned "A first listen." It features the sounds of a distant battle, followed by a woman's voice saying, "You ready?" A man responds, "No," and the first voice breathlessly admits, "Me either."RELATED: Wheel of Time: New Video Offers First Look at Two Rivers SetThe characters speaking in the clip are evidently Egwene al'Vere and Perrin Aybara, as confirmed by Egwene's actor Madeleine Madden on her Instagram. The scene depicted is as of yet unknown.

There was also a visual component to the video, showing an animated sequence of bubbles changing shade and moving to form a symbol. The shape never quite resolves but is clearly forming the two halves of the ancient Aes Sedai seal, resembling the yin-yang of some Eastern philosophies. In the Wheel of Time universe, the symbol represents the male and female halves of the One Power, with the white half or "Flame of Tar Valon" standing for female Aes Sedai and the black half or "Dragon's Fang" used for the dreaded male channelers, whose power has been dangerously corrupted.

After shutting down production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Wheel of Time has resumed filming and updates on casting and details of the adaptation have continued to roll in. However, this is the first time that any audio recordings from the show have been released.

First published in 1990, Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time fantasy series consists of fourteen novels, the final three of which were co-written by Brandon Sanderson following Jordan's death in 2007. The series, which follows a group of young villagers coming to terms with their own powers while being drawn into a worldwide conflict, is set in a world in which only women can wield the magical One Power without losing their sanity. It became a cornerstone of modern epic fantasy, known for its unique worldbuilding and expansive scope.

Executive produced and written by Rafe Judkins, The Wheel of Time stars Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford, Zoë Robins, Barney Harris, Madeleine Madden, Daniel Henney, and Michael McElhatton. A premiere date has not been announced by Amazon at this time.
