When The Wheel of Time premieres on Nov. 19, it will come with some bonus content illuminating the distant past of the show's high fantasy setting. The official Twitter for the Prime Video series posted a trailer for The Wheel of Time: Origins, a series of animated shorts to be released concurrently with new episodes. "Explore the years and centuries before our tale," the tweet reads. "On November 19, see the new animated shorts on X-Ray by pressing up on your FireTV remote or tapping on your mobile device while watching The Wheel of Time."RELATED: The Wheel of Time EPs Tease a Book-Accurate Set Design & Look The trailer moves through a variety of scenes which are animated in a realistic, moody style, set to a narration which says, "Experience the origins of The Wheel of Time with exclusive animated bonus content from Prime Video X-Ray...and see how the world Broke." It goes on to provide detailed instructions on how to access X-Ray to view the shorts using Amazon's FireTV remote or a mobile device, then adds, "Each episode is an expansive backstory of The Wheel of Time. It must be seen to know the whole truth."

While much of the imagery shown in the trailer is ominous or violent without revealing much, there are some visible connections to the setting of the main Wheel of Time storyline. The Dragon's banner is seen fluttering in one shot, while others suggest that the world before the Breaking looked much like our own -- something the characters in the TV series would never realize.

The Wheel of Time, which is based on the bestselling fantasy novels by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, is set in a world in which only women can work magic by channeling the One Power. Moiraine's search for the prophesied savior of the world leads her to five young people from a village called the Two Rivers, who will become caught up in a worldwide conflict as they each discover their own power. However, if one of them is a man who can channel, he'll be in danger from both the world and himself.

The first three episodes of The Wheel of Time Season 1, along with The Wheel of Time: Origins, will premiere on Amazon on November 19.
