The cast of Amazon Studio's upcoming Wheel of Time series, adapted from the beloved fantasy books written by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, is expanding with the addition of four more actors for its first season.

According to Deadline, Alvaro Morte, known best for The Head and Money Heist, will be playing Logain. His character enters the story as a "False Dragon," a man who wields destructive magical power and claims to be the prophesied reborn world savior. Hammad Animashaun, who has appeared in Netflix's Black Mirror, has been cast as Loial. His portrayal is likely to be supported by prosthetic makeup and/or CGI, as Loial is a non-human character known as an Ogier.

The role of Thom Merrilin will be played by Alexandre Willaume of 2018's Tomb Raider. Thom is a "gleeman," a traveling entertainer, who joins the young villagers on their journey early in the first novel.

Finally, Johann Myers will take on the role of the sinister merchant Padan Fain. While the other new cast members have been booked for multiple episodes, Myers is currently confirmed for just one, though with the potential to return later in the series. Showrunner Rafe Judkins noted on Twitter that Myers "was actually the very first shot of the show, riding his cart into the Two Rivers."
