September on Shudder is an exciting month, with several exciting original films, and a handful of new docu-series that will dive into the history of horror cinema. As always, there will be thrills, chills, and lots of spilled blood.

101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments of All Time is the new Shudder series presented by horror connoisseur, Eli Roth (director of the upcoming Borderlands film adaptation).

The show will do as the title promises, and count down the scariest moments in horror, spread out across eight episodes. Further, the scenes will be examined and expounded upon, sharing in the movie magic that has seared itself into movie fans worldwide. Many horror-related filmmakers and experts will weigh in on the proceedings.

7 Queer For Fear: A History Of Queer Horror – 9/30

Brought to life by executive producer Bryan Fuller (Hannibal), Queer for Fear: A History of Queer Horror is a Shudder-exlusive four-part documentary series that will deep dive into the history of LGBTQ+ representation in horror cinema (thrillers included).

Segments will be devoted to the origins of the genre, focusing on authors like Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, and Oscar Wilde. Many other notable movements and events will be covered, leading up to the latest generation of queer filmmakers. Notably, the series is going to highlight moments that have resonated with queer audiences worldwide.

6 Who Invited Them – 9/1

Who Invited Them is a Shudder exclusive available on September 1. When Adam and Margo (Ryan Hansen and Melissa Tang, respectively) host a housewarming party, things go swimmingly. However, once all the other guests have left, another couple remains.

They're revealed to be Adam and Margo's neighbors, a wealthy couple. All seems fine, until things go from odd to downright strange, and it seems that there's more than meets the eye about the lingering couple. The film is written and directed by Duncan Birmingham.

5 Saloum – 9/8

IFC films is releasing Saloum in NY and LA on September 2 for a brief run before the film makes its way to Shudder on September 8. The film tells the story of a group of mercenaries known as the Bangui Hyenes, who operate in Guinea-Bissau. After their helicopter is shot down, the group must hide out until the heat blows over.

They find a campground in Sine-Saloum, where they meet a group of bystanders, but not all is what it seems, and a dark past comes rushing back.

4 Flux Gourmet – 9/15

Flux Gourmet looks to be one of the more interesting art-house-adjacent horror shows of recent years. Taking place at a culinary place known as the Sonic Culinary Institute, a group of people have an immersive foodie experience like no other.

There, avant-garde food-centric performance is accompanied by an unflinching look at the gastrointestinal processes that govern our bodies. Flux Gourmet arrives on Shudder on September 15, and stars Asa Butterfield (Sex Education), and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones).

3 Speak No Evil – 9/15

Speak No Evil is a Danish film by director Christian Tafdrup (A Horrible Woman), and it's coming to Shudder on September 15. The film tells the story of a Danish family who treat themselves to a vacation in Tuscany. There, they meet a Dutch family and hit it off. Sometime later, the Danish family is invited to the Dutch family's home in the woods for a weekend gathering.

Of course, things go from creepy to much, much worse. The film will be released in theaters on September 9 before popping up on the streaming service.

2 Raven’s Hollow – 9/22

The new Shudder Original film, Raven's Hollow, will follow a fictionalized version of Edgar Allan Poe back in his West Point days in 1830. There, along with other cadets-in-training, they discover a mysterious community that, of course, protects a sinister secret at its core.

The film stars William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia) along with many other character actor whom fans will instantly recognize. The film premieres on Shudder on September 22, and is written and directed by Christopher Hatton in a notable step up from his previous efforts.

1 Sissy – 9/29

On September 29, Sissy is coming to Shudder. The film follows former friends, Cecilia (Aisha Dee) and Emma (Hannah Barlow), whose unbreakable bond was torn when Alex (Emily De Margheriti) came to town. Years later, Cecilia is a social media influencer, purportedly living her dream lifestyle, and the dream of TikTokers everywhere.

That is, until she bumps into Emma, who invites Cecilia to her bachelorette weekend in the middle of nowhere. Hannah Barlow co-directs along with Kane Senes.
