WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for What We Do in the Shadows Season 3, Episode 4, "The Casino," now available on Hulu via FX.

In What We Do in the Shadows' third season, the New York vampires continue to prove they're not as intimidating as they tout. Nandor (Kayvan Novak ) fails to find romance, losing that brutal edge that made him a warlord back in the day, while Laszlo (Matt Berry) seems to be more coward than first assumed. It's only Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) who still has that cutthroat attitude to her, but in the latest episode, even she loses her bite as  the consequences of breaking vampire travel rules are revealed.

The coven members indicate they need to take some of their ancestral soil from their coffin with them on a vacation. If they don't, they'll become powerless, frying their brains and breaking their bodies. Nadja then reveals they won't be able to rest, they won't be able to leave where they find themselves, and they won't be able to hypnotize or use other powers.

Because of this, they bring bags of their homeland's soil on their Atlantic City trip. Sadly, as they engage in gambling and lurid antics, they weaken, only to discover Colin Robinson got swept up watching TV, allowing the housekeeper to vacuum up the dirt.

It explains why no one, apart from Guillermo, could sleep. The vampires are livid and lack energy, hence why their powers malfunction. For example, Laszlo can't turn into a bat, instead turning into a sparrow. Meanwhile, Nadja struggles to get money to repay their friend Sean, who loaned them his credit card, as she cannot hypnotize others.

Luckily, the credit card allows Guillermo to travel to their homelands to bring dirt back. He enjoys his own mini-vacation, grabbing soil from Greece, England and Al-Quolanudar. This powers up the vampires, aside from Colin, who didn't lose his abilities as an energy vampire.

That said, the crew are able to hypnotize two boxers, rigging it so they can make money and pay back Sean; although this has a tragic end for the losing fighter. In a rare moment, they also show their gratitude to Guillermo. The others finally acknowledge he's their bodyguard, not familiar; however, seeing as he still has that vampire-hunting Van Helsing blood, he now knows another weakness of these vampires.

The first four episodes of What We Do in the Shadows are streaming now on Hulu via FX.
