The first trailer for Wellington Paranormal, a spinoff of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement's 2014 mockumentary What We Do in the Shadowsoffers fans a glimpse at what to expect when the series debuts next month.

The new series follows Karen O'Leary, Mike Minogue and Maaka Pohatu, members of the Wellington police force's paranormal division, as they deal with supernatural happenings, from exorcisms to werewolf attacks. Minogue and O'Leary reprise their roles from What We Do in the Shadows.

Premiering July 11 on New Zealand's TVNZ 2, Wellington Paranormal isn't the only Shadows spinoff in the pipeline.

There's also the 10-episode television series ordered by FX, which will take the premise of the original project (a group of immortal vampires living together) but transplant it to New York City. Actors Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou and Harvey Guillen are attached to the project.

Then there's the movie sequel that Waititi and Clement have briefly discussed, We're Wolves, which will no doubt star the goofy, familial werewolves from the original film, or at least a group inspired by them.

For now, the adventures of the Wellington police force will have to do, but rest assured that there is more from the Shadows universe on the way.
