The world of FX's What We Do in the Shadows is about to get even bigger.

According to executive producer Paul Simms, the upcoming Season 2 will introduce more supernatural creatures, including zombies and ghosts. Further, it will involve necromancers and expand on the universe's witch mythology.

"One of the other big things about this season is expanding the supernatural world of the Staten Island area -- you know, more in the same way that vampires in the show are creatures that just walk amongst us that we never noticed, there's a whole sub world of witches that live in the real world and necromancers that live in the real world and zombies that live in the real world and ghosts, but that's real," Simms teased during a set visit.

Notably, zombies and witches appeared in 2014's What We Do in the Shadows film. Though they weren't central to the plot, they did attend the Unholy Masquerade, which was a major set piece in the movie. Wellington Paranormal, an in-universe spinoff based in New Zealand, also explored witches. FX's What We Do in the Shadows has not yet involved witches outside of Laszlo's cursed hat, which was made of witch skin.

In Season 1, FX's What We Do in the Shadows hinted at a larger supernatural world with the introduction of werewolves. As revealed in the aptly titled episode "Werewolf Feud," the main characters had established an uneasy truce with a pack of werewolves in the early 90s. These werewolf characters have only appeared in that episode so far.

Returning Wednesday, March 15 at 10 pm ET/PT on FX, What We Do In The Shadows stars Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Matt Berry, Mark Proksch and Harvey Guillen. Taika Waititi co-produces alongside Jemaine Clement, Scott Rudin, Paul Simms and Garrett Basch.
