WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for What We Do in the Shadows Season 3, Episode 2, "The Cloak of Duplication," now available on Hulu via FX.

As What We Do in the Shadows continues to paint a comedic picture of life at the Staten Island vampire coven, it feels like loneliness and companionship are becoming bigger themes in Season 3. Nandor (Kayvan Novak) craves intimacy and someone to spend his life with once again. However, after the first two episodes, fans still wonder whether Nandor's familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), is secretly in love with him.

Guillermo's been Nandor's servant for years now, hoping the vampire will one day grant him eternal life. It seems like loyalty as Guillermo wants to be a bloodsucker and achieve immortal greatness. However, key details emerge as he disguises himself as Nandor in Season 3's "The Cloak of Duplication."

Guillermo pretends to be his master, attempting to woo Meg, but she starts thinking he's in love with his boss. Guillermo's Nandor plays it down, but Meg is adamant that it's beyond infatuation and servitude, with the stories she's hearing making her think Guillermo views Nandor as a soulmate.

Now, there are clues to support this, beginning with why Guillermo stays in the first place. He's fighting the vampire-killer within as a Van Helsing descendant, yet he just can't kill his master or leave the coven. Even when they keep him prisoner for slaughtering other vamps, Guillermo escapes and keeps the home clean. He doesn't go back home to his mom, and the shocking thing is, he actually loves it. He simply wants to ensure Nandor's fed, rested and ready to go every day in something that doesn't feel platonic or like a job.

In addition, when Guillermo chides the vamps for abusing him, Nandor's the only person he remains submissive to. He doesn't tell his leader off as if wanting to avoid a lover's spat, even when Nandor's blatantly the most neglectful. It's like he's his concern of spending decades serving without being turned is a metaphor for loving someone for years without them committing or returning the sentiment.

This would explain a lot about Guillermo's home life too. He isn't too emotional with his mom, which is why he has no problem paying excessive rent for a small room at the coven, as he doesn't like being with his family. It may be that he's afraid of coming out to them, hoping Nandor -- as an outsider -- might offer him solace, comfort and acceptance.

In a Rotten Tomatoes interview, Guillén admitted there could be something more to Nandor and Guillermo's connection than just Guillermo having Stockholm Syndrome. The actor confessed that his character loves his master despite being mistreated. However, Guillén remained coy on the truth, saying, "What that means at the end, I don't know. We're going through that journey together. But we definitely start asking questions this season, especially about sexuality, which is a hard conversation to have in general."

Thus, it seems like Guillermo will be addressing coming out of the closet with his mom as a timid Latinx male. All signs point to him wanting more than just friendship with his master. And ultimately, even if Nandor doesn't love him that way, at least Guillermo can be more comfortable in his own skin.
