WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for What We Do in the Shadows Season 3, Episode 8, "The Wellness Center," now available on FX on Hulu.

The eighth episode of What We Do In The Shadows' third season gave Nandor the Relentless a fabulous new haircut, one that was apparently inspired by John Travolta's look in Quentin Tarantino's 1994 crime drama Pulp Fiction.

What We Do In The Shadows Season 3, Episode 8, "The Wellness Center," saw Nandor (Kayvan Novak) joining a community of vampires seeking to become human again. Enamored with the prospect of removing the burdens of his vampirism, Nandor joins the vampires in their bizarre collection of daily rituals and activities, such as having his fangs removed each day and exercising in aerobics classes set to late '90s jams. One of Nandor's biggest lifestyle changes came in the form of a haircut, the character's first across three seasons of television. Novak and the rest of the show's cast discussed Nandor's voluminous new hairstyle during a panel at New York Comic Con 2021, where they confirmed the look was inspired by John Travolta's iconic Pulp Fiction hairdo.

"Can we talk about Nandor's hair in this episode ["The Wellness Center"]?" asked the panel's moderator, Anne Victoria Clark of Vulture. "Because that's a pretty big deal. How was that achieved? How did it feel? Can you talk about that a little bit, Kayvan [Novak]?"

"About my hair? Sure," said Novak, who needed to attend the panel virtually. "I have had a bunch of incredible wigs by our hair designer, Tamara Harrod, who just wanted me to look like John Travolta and that that was the - -which movie was it? Which John Travolta movie was the-?"

"Pulp Fiction," confirmed Matt Berry, who portrays Shadows' Laszlo Cravensworth. The revelation sparked recognition among the panel as they commented on how well and accurately the look was re-created.

"It was a lot of fun to give Nandor a new look because he's had this kind of, you know, Nandor look for quite a while," said Novak. "It's been a bit of a change."
