Werewolves, zombies, ghosts, trolls and witches are some of the supernatural creatures that have been included in What We Do in the Shadowsa mockumentary series about the lives of vampires. Comic-Con@Home saw moderator Haley Joel Osment ask the cast (Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Kayvan Novak, Mark Proksch and Harvey Guillén) and writers (Paul Simms and Stefani Robinson) about what other creatures could enter Season 3, with Simms saying, "the vampires do get a hellhound to protect them," but the paranormal world is huge, and there are so many more creatures to include.

Succubus

With the occult existing in this world, the show could incorporate more demonic beings. One demon that would fit in well would be a succubus, who appears in dreams and seduces humans. Repeated sexaul activity with one can also result in mental and physical decay as well as death. The show has already shown it's willing to deal with more sexual storylines, from Season 1, Episode 9, " The Orgy" to Season 2, Episode 9, "Witches." An episode about a succubus or inccubus - the male version of the demon - feels right at home for this show.

The Devil

Along with including more demons, the show could also benefit from bringing Satan to the screen. As seen in shows like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and films like The Witch, The Dark Lord can be tied to certain branches of witchcraft. With a coven introduced last season, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see Satan enter the picture. With the show already dealing with the hierarchy of vampires, further exploring witch culture and their relationship to Satan could be an interesting contrast to the dynamics in the house. Even if it is not through the witches, Satan could still make a great addition as an imposing, paranormal force.

The Jersey Devil

With the show taking place in New York, looking towards local urban legends could benefit it, and the Jersey Devil would be an excellent cryptid to look to. Legends say the Jersey Devil was once a child, but their mother cursed them, which led to their transformation into the monster. Curses have already played a huge part in the show, with Nadja being a huge believer in them; however, Laszlo believes there is a scientific explanation for everything, despite being a vampire. An episode dedicated to discovering or debunking the Jersey Devil could continue this ongoing conflict, with Laszlo trying to find a rational explanation for the cryptid.

Golem

Going beyond the demonic, another monster that could fit right at home with the vampires would be a golem, especially considering the path Guillermo is on. Season 2 not only showed that his destiny to be a vampire hunter contradicts with his job as a familiar, but the season also was about him standing up for himself and finding independence. With the house lacking a unquestioning, submissive servant, the vampires could make a new servant in the form of a golem, a creature traditionally brought to life for the purpose of serving its master; however, in some myths, the Golem will become a threat, which could provide for more conflict.

Krampus

With many shows having holiday themed episodes, What We Do in the Shadows could also join in the festivities. While Halloween would be an obvious choice, the series could also tackle Christmas, introducing the Krampus, a goat-like demon who punishes misbehaving kids. Not only does a holiday monster fit the genre of the show, but he could be introduced through Nadja, who often recounts tales of her childhood on a European island. Where this island is specifically is unknown; however, it is known that she is Romani, so there is a chance she lived in an area that could've been familiar with this folklore, whether it applied specifically to her community or surrounding neighbors.

Baba Yaga

Baba Yaga in Hellboy (2019)

Another monster Nadja could introduce would be Baba Yaga, especially since Nadja has expressed knowledge about witches and the occult. Baba Yaga may not be a traditional witch, but her use of magic and her role as a trickster character in Russian folklore feels akin to the stories Nadja has shared with audiences. Furthermore, if Nadja's island is close to any Slavic countries, it would make sense that she grew up with this story. Baba Yaga would also be a refreshing take on a magic user in the show, being a more macabre character than the witches seen in Season 2.

Jinn

While Nadja is the character who expresses the deepest connection to other supernatural creatures, the other vampires' cultures are also rich with myths, including Nandoor's. As a vampire from the former Ottoman Empire, he may have familiarity with creatures like the Jinn. This being is neither good nor evil, so an introduction of a Jinn could provide for some genuine conflict, fun mischief making or even a necessary helping hand. Regardless of the role the Jinn plays, it would be great to see a former person, creature or demon from Nandoor's past, revealing more about the relentless soldier.

What We Do in the Shadows stars Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Matt Berry, Mark Proksch and Harvey Guillen. Taika Waititi co-produces alongside Jemaine Clement, Scott Rudin, Paul Simms, Stefani Robinson and Garrett Basch. The show's first and second seasons are available to stream on Hulu and a currently unscheduled third season will air on FX.
