The long-awaited trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has finally dropped, and as is the norm for director Taika Waititi, it includes a catchy and classic rock song. But while the tune fits the movie's style and vibrant color palette, there's potentially a deeper meaning to its usage, especially with the rumors of romances. So, let's look at which song it is and why it was chosen.

The teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnarok broke away from Marvel's typical tone with the inclusion of "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin. This time around, however, the theme has moved into the 1980s with "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses, which is known for being a love song. And that's fitting because it's been long-known that Natalie Portman was reprising her role as Jane Foster, and as seen in the trailer, she's also taking the mantle of Mighty Thor. With Jane and Thor having a somewhat unresolved relationship, it seems likely that the two will reunite and question their love for each other once again.

And Thor isn't the only one facing romantic issues, as Valkyrie may be looking to find her queen. In the comics, Valkyrie is an LGBTQA superhero, and she'll look to become one of the first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it's unclear if her chosen Queen of Asgard will be an already introduced character or someone completely new.

But while the first half of the song is traditional romance, the second half constantly repeats the phrase, "Where do we go now?" And that seems fitting for Thor because he's lost almost everyone he once held dear, being left to wander with the Guardians of the Galaxy. As the trailer points out, Thor is in a transition period of his life, not knowing where he wants to go next, and "Sweet Child O' Mine" certainly helps convey that.

Whether about romance or finding yourself, the trailer's song, as well as the movie's title, makes it clear Thor: Love and Thunder will be one of the most heartfelt MCU movies yet. Even Star-Lord gives a speech about looking at the people you love for guidance, showing the movie isn't shying away from its message. It's unclear where Thor will go after the events of this film, but at least he will have people there for him no matter what.
