Marvel Television's "Ultimate Spider-Man" animated series is scheduled to air its third season on Disney XD later this year, but a photo that hit Twitter Friday morning indicates that the series may be set to undergo a serious status quo shake-up.

Zapp Comics has posted an advance look at badges for Reed's Special Edition: NYC convention, which features artwork from Valiant Entertainment's "X-O Manowar" and "Rai" as well as Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy." But what's drawn the most attention is the Sunday Kids badge, which features a graphic for "Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors." The badge features six different Spider-Figures, all illustrated in the show's art style, including Spider-Man 2099, Ultimate Spider-Man, Miles Morales' costume and what appears to be Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Girl.

If the image is any indication, "Web Warriors" looks like "Ultimate Spider-Man's" animated answer to Marvel Comics' upcoming "Spider-Verse" event set to debut later this year from the creative team of Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel. Could Slott's proclamation of "Spider-Verse" containing "every Spider-Man ever" extend to Marvel's animated version of Peter Parker and result in the first-ever comic-book-to-animated-series crossover event? Considering former Spider-editor Steve Wacker recently shifted from Marvel Comics to Marvel Television, it's possible "Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors" may be the first concrete example of his influence as Vice President of Marvel Animation. Of course, this is all pure speculation, as absolutely no details about what precisely the badge is promoting is available at this time.
