With the release of Marvel Studios: Expanding The Universe on Disney+, Marvel has provided a short look into Captain Carter's episode for the upcoming What If...? animated series. Although primarily centered around Cap herself, the preview also featured this alternate universe's take on the Armored Avenger, Iron Man.

Unlike the version of Shell-Head that audiences are familiar with, this universe's Iron Man armor isn't helmed by Tony Stark. Instead, it would seem as though Steve Rogers is the new man behind the mask. It's also important to note that since Peggy Carter was injected with the Super Soldier Serum, Rogers has maintained his scrawny figure.

The aesthetic seems to based on the Iron Man suit from Earth-90214, which made its appearance in 2010's Iron Man Noir series. Furthermore, considering the armor's included cockpit and helmet design similar to Tony's MK1 armor, the artists at Marvel Studios seem to have taken inspiration from Obadiah Stane's Iron Monger.

Marvel Studios' first animated series, What If...?, will take audiences through the Multiverse to show off alternative versions of the MCU's colorful cast of characters. The show will consist of 23 episodes and will be available on Disney+ sometime in 2021.
