The Season 3 finale of Westworld saw a downturn in viewership. A new report shows that viewership for "Crisis Theory" was down 18 percent from viewership totals in the second season finale.
The finale brought in 888,000 live viewers, the highest of the season since the 901,000 viewers that watched the premiere. Altogether, 1.8 million viewers watched "Crisis Theory" live and on various HBO platforms. This happens to be the same number of total viewers who tuned in for the Season 3 premiere, "Parce Domine."
According to HBO, the Season 3 premiere has collected 10 million viewers. While that is lower than previous seasons, it beat the premieres of The Outsider by 24 percent and Watchmen by 13 percent.
The show has already been renewed for a fourth season, with two post-credits scenes in the Season 3 finale setting up events for upcoming episodes. There were reports that the series has been renewed for an additional two seasons, but showrunner Jonathan Nolan denied having discussed the long-term plans of the drama with anyone.
Westworld stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, Simon Quarterman and Rodrigo Santoro, Aaron Paul, Vincent Cassel, Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi, Marshawn Lynch, John Gallagher Jr., Michael Ealy and Tommy Flanagan. A fourth season will air on HBO.
