HBO released the first teaser trailer for the fourth season of Westworld.

Titled "It doesn’t look like anything to me," the haunting teaser showcases a dystopian New York City and frightening sci-fi imagery, all set to the tune of Lou Reed’s "Perfect Day." The trailer also features characters played by Evan Rachel Wood as Delores Abernathy, Thandiwe Newton as Maeve Millay, Ed Harris as The Man in Black, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale, Luke Hemsworth as Ashley Stubbs, Aaron Paul as Caleb Nichols and Angela Sarafyan as Clementine Pennyfeather.

In July 2021, it was announced that production on the fourth season of Westworld had been delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, Wright, who has starred as Bernard Lowe since Season 1, recently provided an update on Westworld Season 4 and confirmed that they had wrapped filming in December.

"Season 4 is going to be more of the Westworld you’ve come to expect and more digging down into some issues and some technology that is going to look familiar to us, as always," he said in a February interview. "It’s gonna be exciting. I’m not sure exactly when we’re to air but within the coming months, certainly." Season 3 of Westworld aired its finale over two years ago on May 3, 2020, leaving several questions unanswered. It was also the first season that branched out of the Westworld park and into the real world with the android, Delores.

Wright also teased that his character, Bernard, will spend this season continuing to explore the more existential themes of the series. "Bernard is still trying to solve it all and he is still very much a part of the struggle," Wright said. "The struggle goes on, and Bernard is right there at the center of it. It’s gonna be fun."

Created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Westworld aired its first season on HBO in 2016. In an August 2021 interview, Joy teased that the fourth season of the sci-fi drama would showcase "new worlds," with "inversion" being the theme of the season. "You're going to see some new worlds that I think are really fun and you're going to see someone who I kidnapped from Reminiscence in a funny way," she said.

Westworld Season 4 will premiere on HBO on June 26, 2022.
