The first teaser for the upcoming third season of Westworld has been released online.
The HBO series centers around a futuristic world where civilization has developed high-end artificial intelligence. However, those robots have started to turn against humanity, led by the cold yet brilliant Dolores. The previous season of the show ended with Delores (as well as her more benevolent opposite number, Bernard), escaping into the real world.
The new season promises to explore more of the world that exists outside of parks like the titular Westworld, including what could be a major human element. Although the trailer briefly includes Delores, it focuses much more on a new character played by Breaking Bad alum, Aaron Paul.
He appears to be a low-level construction worker or engineer of some kind. But at night, he seems to spend his time working with a band of criminals to either steal from or undermine a society he deems as inherently broken beneath its glistening facade. However, one night he comes across a woman in a tunnel -- a woman revealed to be Dolores.

Developed for television by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Westworld stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Rodrigo Santoro, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, Jimmi Simpson, Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris. The third season of the series will air sometime in 2020.
