HBO's timeline hopping sci-fi Westworld is back for a third season. The story last left off on a doozy of a cliffhanger. Dolores, the simple farm girl turned violent revolutionary, managed to escape from Westworld posing as Delos executive, Charlotte Hale.
After being allowed to join the evacuation boats by the security officer, Stubbs (who not-so-subtly hinted that he was also a host), Dolores looks at the contents of her bag, revealing she has smuggled out five cores, each containing a host. The hosts she's chosen were undoubtedly selected to help her in her plan to overthrow and destroy the human race. Most of the hosts moved on to a simulated reality called the Sublime, which Dolores had transferred out of reach from human interference. Based on who was left at the end, Dolores only has so many options for recruitment.
Bernard Lowe
This one is a bit of a given, as we were shown in the Season 2 finale, "The Passenger," that Dolores prints Bernard a new body in the home of their deceased creator, Arnold Weber. He's among the first hosts she brought back online, and trailers have shown he'll have a big part to play in Season 3. He and Dolores have a complicated relationship. While both want their people to survive, they have vastly different modus operandi.
Bernard simply wants the hosts to live in peace, but Dolores is fuelled by vengeance and wants to kill every last human on earth. Bernard will do everything he can to stop her and Dolores acknowledges this. However, she tells him that he is still a necessary component in the survival of the hosts. Bernard and Dolores are enemies now, and their conflict will likely destroy them both. Yet, Dolores firmly believes the hosts will endure and survive their conflict, ultimately thriving in the aftermath.
Clementine Pennyfeather
Clementine suffered one of the most tragic fates of all the hosts. For years she served as one of the Maeve's girls at the Mariposa Saloon. On the cusp of gaining her sentience, Delos had her taken offline. She was among the many hosts Dolores awoke from cold storage to fight in her attack on the Delos board. She was later used by Delos for more nefarious purposes. Charlotte Hale copied the special code Maeve has that allows her to command hosts. She then sent a lobotomized Clementine in on horseback, transmitting her code to the hosts trying to enter the Sublime.
They all immediately turned on each other, mindlessly killing one another. They even continued their savage assaults after Clementine's host body was shot down. Only Maeve was able to command the hosts to stop fighting. It seems plausible that Dolores, in her guise as Charlotte, took Clementine's core. Although Dolores fights for the hosts' freedom, having absolute control over their actions to ensure victory seems like the kind of moral compromise she'd be willing to make.
Angela
Angela, along with Dolores, is one of the oldest hosts in Westworld. She served for a long time as one of the greeters that helped guests transition into Westworld. She was also a part of Arnold Weber's Wyatt scenario. Arnold sought to prevent the park from opening and orchestrated a catastrophe which saw Dolores, consumed by the Wyatt identity, murder the other hosts. Teddy, under Wyatt's spell, shot Angela in the head.
Later, Angela is seen as a member of Wyatt's followers deep in the desert. When Dolores finally merges her identity with Wyatt's, Angela becomes a steadfast follower. She is part of the group of hosts who gunned down the guests at the Delos Board party. She spends most of Season 2 as one of Dolores' enforcers, ensuring her hoard follows orders. She'll need trusted lieutenants with Bernard out an about, so grabbing a host as loyal as Angela before she escaped would be a smart move.
William/The Man in Black
The Man in Black, otherwise known as William is a board member of Delos who married into the family. When he first visited the park as a young man, he was infatuated with Dolores, but as years went on, he became cruel and bitter. He knew of Delos' true intention of using the park as a way to gather data on their guest, hoping to digitize human consciousness and achieve immortality.
The surprise end credits scene of Season 2 confirmed the Man in Black was a subject of that project and was, in fact, already a host. He was shown surviving the aftermath after Dolores escaped, but there is no reason she couldn't have copied his personality to a core before escaping the Forge. William has an incredible wealth of inside knowledge about Delos and its inner workings. William also tortured Dolores repeatedly for decades, so it seems likely she'd relish the chance to turn him into one of her pawns.
Teddy Flood
Teddy was Dolores' programmed suitor, designed to romantically compliment her in every way. He was kind, brave, and gentle. Before Dolores had awoken, he was her heart's desire. After merging with the Wyatt identity, her lingering affection for Teddy made her bring him along. Eventually, she revealed the truth of his existence, something which he struggled to reconcile with. Dolores tried altering Teddy's behaviors, hoping that this would fix him.
Now capable of great violence, Teddy realized what Dolores had become and the monster she had made him. Unable to reconcile his experiences, his first and only act upon achieving true sentience was to shoot himself in the head. Later, Dolores is seen uploading Teddy's consciousness to the Sublime, bidding goodbye to the goodness in her. But this doesn't necessarily mean Teddy is gone for good. She could have taken his core as a memento, a lingering sign of her attachment to someone she genuinely cared for.
Or maybe her motivations are more devious. She could have made a copy of Teddy and brought it with her, hoping for another chance to correct his code and allow him to see the world as she does. Dolores never wanted Teddy to die and if she can find a way to have a version of him in her life that was aligned with her goals, she'd take it.
