Just when fans started to grow weary with the zombie horror genre, Wesley Snipes is hoping to give people a chance to get excited again.

The man who at one time was the most significant vampire hunter in movies with the Blade trilogy is returning, but this time to fight zombies in a movie titled Outbreak Z, which is scheduled to shoot this summer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Outbreak Z tells the story of two SWAT officers searching a zombie-infested college campus for someone who might have a zombie virus vaccine. Snipes has been cast as one of SWAT officers.

Not only is Wesley Snipes planning to star in the new zombie thriller, but he will also executive produce the movie. Chris Brewster is signed on to direct the movie, with a script penned by Hamid Torabpour, Clint Narramore and Andrew Kightlinger.

Brewster has a history in comic book movies. He was the fight coordinator for both Black Panther and Ant-Man and the Wasp. He won a Taurus Award for Ant-Man and the Wasp and a SAG Award for Black Panther. Brewster was also the fight choreographer and a stunt performer for the Marvel Netflix series, Daredevil, and did stunts for DC Universe's Doom PatrolOutbreak Z will mark his directorial debut.

Writer Hamid Torabpour previously wrote and directed an indie zombie movie called Zombies, starring Candyman legend Tony Todd.

Filming for Outbreak Z starts this summer with a planned Minnesota location shoot.
