Wes Anderson is a self-professed Star Wars fan, but don't expect him to be clamoring to direct the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. He's never made a big action movie, and he says in a new interview that he thinks that would be the biggest drawback to him getting to helm the new Star Wars film.

"Well I have a feeling I would probably ultimately get replaced on the film because I don't know if I have all the right action chops. But at least I know the characters from the old films," he told Deadline.

While he might not want to tackle a big blockbuster, Anderson does think he could make an intimate story about one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars canon: Han Solo.

"I don’t think I would do a terrible job at a Han Solo backstory," he admitted. "I could do that pretty well. But maybe that would be better as a short."

Now that we would pay to see. Star Wars: Episode VII still doesn't have a director, but it is being written by Michael Arndt. The film is due out in 2015.
