All week long we will feature brand-new Cool Wolverine Comic Book Moments in celebration of his recent film. Here is an archive of all the past cool comic moments that I've featured so far over the years.

We continue with a tremendous piece of character work by Chris Claremont and Barry Windsor-Smith in Uncanny X-Men #205...

There are many awesome fight sequences in Uncanny X-Men #205, where a battered and bloodied Wolverine (driven nearly insane with all of his injuries) is being hunted by Lady Deathstrike and the Reavers through New York City. However, the highlight of the issue to me is how Claremont uses Katie Power from Power Pack. She is on a class trip to the City and when she gets separated from her class she encounters a messed up Wolverine and she decides to help him out. The pair then must try to get to safety while still being hunted by the bad guys. The contrast between the two is brilliantly written by Claremont and drawn by Windsor-Smith...

And this leads to what I always think of as "the" moment of the issue, where Wolverine tries to protect Katie's innocence as much as he can before the final battle against the Reavers...

Just like the newly fallen snow, Katie manages to get through the issue pure, which is one of the most heroic feats Wolverine has achieved over the years...

Damn, no wonder writers keep pairing Wolverine with young girls, the contrast is just too awesome.

Feel free to e-mail me at bcronin@comicbookresources.com to suggest other cool Wolverine moments to me for the rest of the week! Make sure to check the archive, though, as a number of cool moments have already been featured starring Wolverine (including the aforementioned bit from X-Men #132).
