Wednesday's Emma Myers recently weighed in on whether the popular "Wenclair" ship will become canon in Season 2, saying it was "possible."

Myers discussed the potential for romance to blossom between her character, Enid Sinclair, and Jenna Ortega's Wednesday in an interview with Variety. "Anything is possible in the show," she said. "We haven't really spoken about direction at all, so I don't really know what the game plan is for anything. As far as love interests go for Wednesday, I feel like at least for a second season, she needs to take her season of singleness. She just had a whole fiasco with her men, she's got to lay it off for a little bit. I would be deterred from dating anybody if I had gone through that."

Netflix officially renewed Wednesday for a second season in January 2023. The streaming giant broke the news via a video narrated by Ortega, in character as Wednesday Addams, thanking viewers for embracing the series. Ortega's voiceover was accompanied by clips from Wednesday Season 1, as well as footage of fans across the globe attending events related to the show. The video references the first season's iconic dance scene (and the viral dance trend it inspired), as well.

Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Dance Scene Regret

Ortega addressed audiences' response to the dance scene, which appears in Wednesday Episode 4, "Woe What a Night," in a recent interview. Notably, the star said there were aspects of the dance choreography she wished she had done differently and expressed disbelief that the version fans saw proved so popular. "That was one of the scenes that I stay awake at night thinking about because I thought there was so much that I should've done and could've done, so the fact that anyone has shown any bit of appreciation or have even tried it themselves is kind of -- it's not fathomable to me," Ortega said.

Ortega made no mention of the controversy surrounding Wednesday's dance scene, which stems from the actor's previous admission that she had COVID-19 when it was shot. The show's co-creator Miles Millar recently downplayed the scandal, insisting that "extremely stringent COVID protocols" were followed throughout filming on the Netflix series. "Jenna tested negative the day before, and only when a positive test came back, and as soon as it did, she was escorted off the set and went into quarantine for I think 10 days," Millar said.

Wednesday Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 2 does not yet have a release date.
