Tim Burton's upcoming Addams Family spinoff series Wednesday is officially slated to premiere this November -- and Netflix has marked the announcement with a new official clip.

The streaming giant revealed the Wednesday clip as part of the 2022 iteration of Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event. In it, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) catches the disembodied hand known as Thing (Victor Dorobantu) in her dorm room. Wednesday quickly deduces that her parents sent Thing to spy on her. She then threatens the hand, thus convincing him to swear his allegiance to her instead. The clip concludes by affirming that Wednesday will fittingly release its eight episodes on a Wednesday -- more specifically, Nov. 23.

Wednesday Promises a Creepy, Kooky Thanksgiving

Netflix describes Wednesday as a "sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy." In addition to the aforementioned Ortega (Scream) as Wednesday herself, the series stars Luis Guzmán (The Count of Monte Cristo, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City) as Gomez Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago) as Morticia Addams and Isaac Ordonez (A Wrinkle in Time) as Pugsley Addams. Moreover, Christina Ricci -- who portrayed Wednesday in the 1990s Addams Family movies -- is slated to appear in a mystery role.

Other key cast members include Gwendoline Christie (Star Wars, The Sandman) as Larissa Weems, principal of Nevermore Academy and Morticia's childhood rival, as well as Riki Lindhome (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Duncanville) as Dr. Valerie Kinbott, Jamie McShane (Bloodline, Star Trek: Picard) as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, Percy Hynes White (The Gifted) as Xavier Thorpe and Tommie Earl Jenkins (Death Stranding) as Mayor Walker, among many others. Wednesday is created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar alongside the aforementioned Tim Burton, the latter of whom also directed a number of episodes. Burton shares directing duties with Gandja Monteiro and James Marshall.

Interestingly, Burton was initially the top choice to helm Paramount Pictures' 1991 film The Addams Family (the first film to feature the aforementioned Ricci as Wednesday Addams). However, Burton ultimately passed on the project in favor of directing 1992's Batman Returns, a sequel to his 1989 DC film Batman, for Warner Bros. Pictures. In turn, The Addams Family was instead directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, who later returned to helm the 1993 sequel, Addams Family Values.

Wednesday premieres Nov. 23 on Netflix.
