Netflix announced the official premiere date for Wednesday, its live-action spinoff of The Addams Family.

Revealed on Twitter with a stylishly rainy poster, fans of the murderous teenager, played by Jenna Ortega in the series, will be able to stream the show on Nov. 23. The season will consist of eight episodes that will be released simultaneously. Co-created by iconic filmmaker Tim Burton, Wednesday will see the titular character navigating the perils of her teenage years while investigating a vicious serial killer, coming to terms with her psychic abilities and solving a mystery that has long-haunted her beloved family.

While details on Wednesday's plot are still scarce, Netflix has confirmed that her immediate relations will play a substantial supporting role in the story. This means fans of The Addams Family can look forward to seeing Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (Luis Guzmán) and Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez). While both Thing and Lurch are confirmed to appear in the series, showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have refused to reveal whether fan-favorite character Uncle Fester will show up. "Watch the show," is as much of a hint as the pair will provide viewers.

Wednesday Addams Returns

Beyond the various members of the spooky family, Wednesday will also have a special cameo in the form of Christina Ricci, who played the morbid pre-teen in both The Addams Family movie and its sequel Addams Family Values. Netflix has yet to disclose who the beloved actor will be playing but Ricci has given her blessing to Ortega's take on the character. "Jenna is incredible," Ricci said. "I saw some of the wardrobe photos before I went [to set] so I knew [what she looked like in character] and I was like, it's such a great modern take on Wednesday."

As for the show's production, Gough and Millar explained that Wednesday was designed to feel like a Burton movie that stretched way past the conventional 90 minutes running time of a feature film. "[Burton] had a lot of questions about the previous television work we’d done, like how we were able to achieve it," Gough said. "He really loved that you had time to be with Wednesday and explore the character and you didn’t have to, you know, wrap things up in an hour and 45 minutes.”

Wednesday creepily stalks her way onto Netflix on Nov. 23.
