Netflix's fast-approaching Addams Family spinoff series Wednesday has released its official title sequence.Posted to Netflix's Twitter account, the intro was "creatively guided" by director Tim Burton, with a score from his frequent musical collaborator Danny Elfman. Wednesday Premieres on Netflix This Month

While fans are eagerly gearing up for Wednesday's Nov. 23 premiere, show creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar revealed that it almost didn't happen the way it did. They explained that, while they conceived of the project with the intention that it be helmed by Tim Burton, they were expecting the director to say "no" to their pitch. Gough recalled that they were shocked when they "sent him the first script and three days later his agent called and said, 'Tim loves it.'" Gough added that, when filming, Wednesday lived up to the director's initial expectations. "He really loved that you had time to be with Wednesday and explore the character and you didn’t have to, you know, wrap things up in an hour and 45 minutes," he said.

Burton himself explained that, despite passing on directing 1991's The Addams Family and having never directed television before, the script for Wednesday spoke to him. He explained that it reminded him of "how I felt in school and how you feel about your parents, how you feel as a person," adding that "It gave the Addams Family a different kind of reality." But despite being excited by Wednesday, Burton warned fans not to expect him to make the permanent jump from movies to television. The director explained that he "enjoyed" making Wednesday "just because it was interesting to have a different pace, a slower kind of burn," but added that, "for me, I still love movies. I still think there's a place for movies these days."
