WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Batman: Wayne Family Adventures #4, available now on Webtoon.

Episode 4 of the wildly successful Bat-Family Webtoon, Batman: Wayne Family Adventures, features a moment referencing the infamous "Spider-Man pointing at Spider-Man" Internet meme.

Titled "Alert," the episode features Bruce Wayne learning of several break-ins at his Bat-tech safe houses throughout Gotham City. With numerous pieces of equipment silently stolen, Batman assumes the worst and rushes into action as an alarm is finally tripped. As he runs to the scene, the Dark Knight thinks to himself, "Who's bold enough to steal from Batman in broad daylight? Riddler? Bane?"

Batman and Red Hood pointing at each other, referencing the infamous Spider-Man meme.

The answer is none other than one of Bruce's adopted children -- Jason Todd/Red Hood. Bruce and Jason point fingers at each other in a pose referencing the Spider-Man meme, Jason remarks that the safe house had already been broken into when he first arrived and then the snarky former Robin grabs a smoke grenade and dashes off. After he leaves, Batman grumbles about how Jason obviously isn't content to receive the latest gadgets in the mail every month.

The Spider-Man pointing meme is from the "Double Identity episode" of the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon, which featured a villain masquerading as the web-slinger. Both Spider-Men eventually cross paths and point fingers at each other in a moment that has since ended up all over the Internet. The meme even found its way into the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which showed Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099, embarking across the multiverse on a trip to Earth-67 -- home of the 1967 cartoon Spidey.

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures debuted in early September as the first officially licensed collaboration between Webtoon and DC. Showcasing a slice-of-life portrayal of the Bat-Family as they do everything from welcome Duke Thomas to fight over Alfred Pennyworth's last cookie, the comic has been wildly successful. At the moment, it has over 500,000 followers, which surpasses the monthly sales numbers for several of Batman's regular series, including Batman, Detective Comics and Batman: Urban Legends.

While these high numbers may be due to the comic's free price point, Batman: Wayne Family Adventures nevertheless remains one of the most popular series on Webtoon and comes at a time when other traditional comic publishers are dipping their toes into the webcomic market. Marvel Unlimited relaunched with several digital-exclusive Infinity Comics shortly after Batman: Wayne Family Adventures and Archie Comics has also brought its brand of young adult shenanigans to Webtoon with the recent release of a title starring Big Ethel.
