Watchmen, Transformers 2, Brave and the Bold: December 30th Comic Reel

WATCHMEN

The news? It’s bad … for Warner Bros and fans waiting for the film. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox Studios aims to delay the release of the film. A settlement looks unlikely at this point, unless it’s all just negotiating tactics by Fox.

Meanwhile, we got an email from Rebecca Thomas, who wrote “AMC theatres also … had some footage of Nite Owl in his basement that looked almost exactly like the scene in the book after Rorschach leaves, it also showed a great scene of Manhattan in the Vietnam war.”

Finally, Kung Fu Rodeo has some samples of the pre-media blitz, including a Los Angeles Times article scanned in and retail standees.

Release date … uh …

TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

USA Today has even more production stills from the Shia Lebeouf-fueled blockbuster sequel.

Directed by Michael Bay, release date June 26, 2009.

BRAVE AND THE BOLD

CBR News has new video clips from the animated series.

SPIDER-MAN: THE MUSICAL

The musical group U2 has taken over the project, and Q The Music has some news about it. The Edge and Bono have been writing the music and lyrics for the project which is being made with Tony-winning director Julie Taymor. “I think the musical had its heyday back in the ’40s, ’50s, ’60s era. I don’t think there’s been anything that interesting done in it since,” The Edge said. “Anyway, we’ve always harboured this sneaky ambition that maybe one day we might try our hand in that area.”

No release date announced, starring Evan Rachel Wood.

STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI

How about that new trailer, huh?

CORALINE

Speaking of YouTube clips, here’s six from Sci Fi Wire.

THE CASTING COUCH

If you have the scoop on anything related to comic book movies, TV adaptations or just want to give us a truck full of cash, no questions asked, drop us a line and let’s coordinate. You can choose an alias if you’d like, or be mentioned by name — we honor requests for anonymity. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, and The Hundred and Four knows a whole lot has happened, but nothing has changed.
