Tom King continues to hint that an upcoming project of his will take place in the world of Watchmen.

The DC Comics writer posted a piece of art to his Twitter and then deleted it, but it was reposted soon after on Reddit.

The image shows Rorschach, aka Walter Kovacs, with a mysterious woman in a fedora and mask leaning on him. Whether this is a love interest for Rorschach, another costumed vigilante or something else altogether is unknown.

This would not be King's first foray into the world of Watchmen; he previously utilized elements from that universe during the Batman/The Flash crossover, "The Button," which saw the godlike Doctor Manhattan killing Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, and Bruce Wayne encountering the Flashpoint Batman who happened to be an alternate universe version of his father Thomas.

Last year, King also posted a picture of 11 of the 12 issues that make up Watchmen, simply stating "Research for a thing." If this refers to the same project, it's clearly been in the works for quite a while.

DC Comics has also revisited the world of Watchmen with several Before Watchmen mini-series, as well as the Doomsday Clock maxiseries by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.

Currently, King is writing Strange Adventures, with Mitch Gerards and Evan "Doc" Shaner on art duties, and is co-writing the New Gods movie with Ava DuVernay, which will be based on the Fourth World concepts created by legendary artist Jack Kirby.
