HBO's continuation of the landmark comic book story Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons was one of its biggest breakout hits last year.  Developed by Damon Lindelof, the season told a complete story set approximately 30 years after the events of the comic book series.

While Lindelof has remained coy about the possibility of returning to develop a second season, star Regina King has one, specific condition for her own potential return as Angela Akbar. "I can see myself being involved in a Season 2 if it was really smart. I would need to know the beginning and the endgame, unlike how this season was. I did not know what the endgame was," King told The Hollywood Reporter. "I just totally trust Damon. There's a part of me that feels like...it's just really hard to think we could top Season 1, you know?"

A strong success with audiences and critics alike, HBO left a potential continuation of the award-winning television series' first season up to Lindelof. With Lindelof satisfied with the way the adaptation ended, there are no plans for a second season at this time.

Developed by Damon Lindelof, HBO's Watchmen stars Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Jean Smart, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tom Mison, James Wolk, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon.
