Watchmen's Regina King will produce and develop a supernatural teen drama for The CW.

Deadline announced the news on Tuesday. The series, entitled Slay, will be executive produced by King and her sister Reina King along with former CSI: NY showrunner Pam Veasey and Julian Johnson. Johnson will also serve as the series writer.

The series synopsis reads, "Slay centers on Carson Jones, a bold, witty teenager with afro puffs, leather boots, seventies cool, and – thanks to her mother’s ancient African bloodline – supernatural gifts and the responsibility to use them to protect Virginia’s Historic Triangle (one of the most haunted areas in the country) from the forces of darkness."

The teen drama will be produced through the King sisters' production company Royal Ties Prods in conjunction with CBS Studios. The CW series serves as a reunion for King and Veasey after producing the police drama pilot The Finest for ABC a few years ago, which Veasey wrote.

King recently won her fourth Emmy for Watchmen. King has been receiving awards-season buzz for her feature film directorial debut One Night in Miami, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

Produced by Regina King and written Julian Johnson, Slay will air on The CW. A release date has not been announced.
