Watchmen creator Damon Lindelof had nothing but praise for the series' most strange and obscure character, the Lube Man.

Lindelof posted a video of the Lube Man running from Regina King's Angela Abar/Sister Night before sliding effortlessly into a sewer drain on Instagram. He followed the video by writing, "All I ever wanted in life was for this to happen when people do a google search for 'Lube Man.'”

With his introduction in the episode "If You Don't Like My Story, Write Your Own," the odd masked figure has become the most-talked character from the HBO series. His appearance has spawned many memes, think pieces and video commentary since the episode aired.
