A new trailer for HBO's upcoming series based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen debuted at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
The video, which you can see below, starts with Hooded Justice engaging in vigilante activities, though it's later revealed to be a show on TV. The footage then pivots to the investigation of the Rorschach vigilantes. The video also focuses on FBI Agent Laurie Blake, known as Laurie Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre in the comics. She's the daughter of Sally Jupiter and Edward Blake and has seemingly taken her father's last name. The end of the trailer shows a man in a suit leaning down to pick up a blue mask, revealing his hand to be blue, like Doctor Manhattan, indicating the god-like character has returned after leaving at the end of Watchmen.
Developed by Damon Lindelof, HBO's Watchmen stars Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tom Mison, James Wolk, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon. The series will premiere in the fall of 2019.
