Comic book movies are no strangers to corporate tie-ins going back at least to Batman hocking Diet Coke in 1989. But this week, Bryan Singer’s incoming 20th Century Fox Marvel adaptation “X-Men: Apocalypse” found some strange new marketing ground by teaming with real estate giant Coldwell Banker for a new set of ads that show off some as yet unseen footage from the mutant sequel.
It all starts with a standard but revealing new trailer for the film:
But the more “uncanny” spot features a supposed Parade of Homes-like look at the X-Mansion. Apparently training teenage outcasts for a war to save the world doesn’t quite bring in the mortgage payments:
